Fresh from completing his MSc in Management and Business Analytics in September 2024, Burhan was determined to break into the data analytics space in the UK.

In just a few weeks, we revamped his strategy, sharpened his interview skills, enhanced his CV, and built a winning portfolio. And guess what? After applying to 45 jobs and securing 2 interviews, Burhan landed a Data Analyst job at one of the biggest energy providers in the UK!

From Fresh Graduate to Data Analyst: The Backstory

• Background: Burhan had just finished his master’s program in Management and Business Analytics. Alongside this, he also had 4 months of internship experience as a Data Analyst, where he first put his learning into real-world practice.
• Self-Learning: Most of his hard skills—like SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and Python—were honed by watching tutorials on YouTube. His ability to proactively self-learn made a huge difference in how quickly he picked up advanced analytics techniques.
• Challenge: Despite this hands-on internship and self-taught expertise, Burhan needed a more strategic approach to stand out in a competitive job market. He felt overwhelmed regarding how to position his skills, craft a compelling CV, and approach interviews confidently.
