How to choose a university in four steps

How to choose a university

There are thousands of universities to choose from, but there are some steps you can take to narrow down your search on choosing a university.

1) Are you doing your research online?

The majority of UK universities are on UCAS, where you can filter them by the location and courses. Once you are finalized with the location and course, You need to check the modules before finalizing your stream. Compare the modules with other universities to get a better idea of choosing a university. Make sure to check university social media profiles to interact with the students to get specific information.

2) Did you check if it’s easy to get part-time jobs around your university?

I have seen thousands of students stuck in the universities countryside where they cant find a part-time job to earn their living. You can check the part-time jobs by searching your area postcode on Google. Moreover, check the population of nearby town so that you have an idea that you are not going to a university which is far away to give you any opportunities to earn.

3) Ask yourself a question?

Are you here for studies? or want to earn money? You don’t have to feel bad if you are here to make money because, deep down, we all want to have financial security in our lives. A few years of struggle can give you a better life and security. If your only goal is to earn money and settle back in your home country, then go with the cheaper universities and earn till your visa is valid. Make sure not to overstay. 🙂

4) Have you heard about Racism?

Yes, you heard it right. I am talking about Racism. Many people will say it’s not the same as in the 70’s or 80’s. Imagine when you enter your class, and it’s already divided into groups. Asians are in a different group, and Britishers are in another group. So you don’t want to stuck in a place where the population of international students are significantly less. Make sure to check the global university population before you apply.

I was writing this article to have at least five points, but i couldn’t think of any other topic that should help students choose a university.

Do you know any other point which can help students?

I would love to hear it in the comments.
